This is a simple way to make a paper butterfly.
You will need: colored paper (or white paper and coloring paints, markers, or crayons), scissors, and string or ribbon; glitter if desired!
Cut a square piece of paper in half; pleat each half, but for one you can fold the corners down first to shape into point for upper wings.
Crimp pleated paper: hold the pleats together in the middle of the pleat-panels. Do this for both top and bottom wings.
Tie the two pleated wing sets together in the middle – a paper strip or ribbon, even string is OK.
Spread, shape, and bring out the wings’ symmetry.
Attach string or use ribbon if long enough, and fly!
